“A Magical Day at Star Hill Family Farm” By Kierra
It was a frosty December morning, with a chill in the air,
When my cousin Lola and I were heading somewhere fair!
We met at Star Hill Family Farm, nestled in the trees,
Our parents from Glastonbury and Middletown made it there with ease.
My excitement bubbled as we pulled into the lot,
I could smell pine trees and cocoa, oh, what a magical spot!
“Look, there’s Santa and Mrs. Claus, over by the sleigh!”
Lola tugged on my coat, “Let’s go see them right away!”
We giggled as we ran, our boots crunching in the snow,
Santa’s twinkling eyes sparkled as he said, “Ho, ho, ho!”
We smiled for a picture, with candy canes in hand,
And fed the silly goats—oh, wasn’t it grand?
The horse-drawn wagon ride was a dream come true,
Clip-clop went the horses as we admired the view.
Through fields we rode, the wind tickling our cheeks,
And the scent of fresh Christmas trees made the air sweet.
Lola leaned over and whispered with glee,
“I think this is the most fun we’ll ever see!”
After the ride, we ran to the barn,
Where a wood stove was crackling, keeping us cozy and warm.
Inside, we played with games and wrote letters to Santa,
Imagining reindeer, candy canes, and Christmas fantasia!
With crayons and markers, our wishes were clear,
And we dropped them by the mailbox for Santa to hear.
As the day came to an end, we waved goodbye to the farm,
Promising we’d return, wrapped up in all the charm.
With wreaths and a tree tied tight on the car,
We made the drive back home, though we weren’t too far.
Star Hill Family Farm had filled us with cheer,
And I whispered to Lola, “Let’s come back next year!”
